There have been many crazes to appear online: from planking, duckface, Gangnam Style and the most recent addition, Harlem Shake, but there is a new heavyweight contender in the viral stratosphere – The Screaming Goat.
The Screaming Goat is exactly what it sounds like – the use of a screaming goat. But to make it effective it needs to be used to replace lyrics in a popular song. The concept is easy to replicate, but it takes the right part of a song to pull it off.
At first we felt it was a person’s scream recorded on the top of what looked like a goat screaming (yeah we know, we came top in every class in school). But we did some research and it turned out to be in fact an actual goat (it seems our school wasn’t that strict when it came to grade) as there are actual goat breeds that do sound like humans screaming.
Nevertheless, all you need to know is it seems to make songs funnier. And if you wish to be known as one of the cool kids, you need to get on top of all the viral trends – a Nintendo Game Boy and a pair of Converse wouldn’t hurt either.
Psssh! someone thought that one goat would not suffice and decided to get a whole farm of goats onboard for this Bruno Mars Goat Remix. So if you are wondering where all your goats have gone Old MacDonald then we know where (god, that was a bad one).
Unless you have a secret Rebecca Black fetish then the chances are you will most likely dislike her song Friday like any other sane person; however, with the introduction of a goat that says “yeah” the song just rose by 5%, making the overall listenability of the song reach to…5%. Seriously though, who listens to this sh#t? We are referring to the original.
Guess what? Goats love to party as much as the next person, with a beer bong in one hand and a hoe on the other. And although they love to throw down in UK, their favourite place to party is the U.S.A. So to quote The Mask: “P.A.R.T…Y? Because I gotta!”
Told, Ron Jeremy in the video. If you don’t know who the geezer is then we suggest you go and use your friend Google to find out, or use Bing for the 5 people of you who just wish to be awkward.
This is one for all of you Mums out there. If you love your cheesy American rock, which you love to turn up full blast when everyone is out of the house, then Bon Jovi is definitely a part of your vinyl collection. Mr. Jon Bon Jovi is knocking on now though as he just turned 51.
Boom, Boom “goat scream!” The video, like all of them to be fair, are so simple, yet so effective. I guess in a few months or so we will be flooded with them and even now there are poor attempts. However, this Black Eyed Peas Goat Remix had to make it into the top ten. Well, it was the best of a bunch of crap ones more like.
Skrillex, whose real name is Sonny Moore, used to be the lead man in a post-hardcore band called From First to Last. Yeah, we bet all you dance bummers didn’t know that did you? Your beloved Skrillex used to be in a “metal” band – the kind of band you judge other people for listening to. Anyway, enough of the rant. If you take Skrillex and add a goat, only good things can come of it.
Although this video claims to be the original, it was uploaded two weeks after the other Taylor Swift video that can be found at the end of this post. This version “may not” be the original, but it is original in the sense of the goat scream that they used, which in effect made the whole Screaming Goat thing go viral.
Someone commented on this Michael Jackson video and said “This is what the internet was invented for!” And you know what, we actually agree. Well, apart from so we can bring you pointless and funny top ten lists that only get viewed by the same 4 people – I guess we need to do something productive through the day though.
Yeah, I know, we are picking “generic pop” songs for this top ten, but it’s you guys who have made these videos and pop is what you like. Too bad no one has made a decent Metal remix. Oh wait, someone did. For your listening pleasure Iron Maiden – Aces High (Goat Edition). We bet it will get the most thumbs down too…b@st@rds.
From what we have found out while researching (when we say researching we mean drinking a beer and Googling) is the original video was titled: Taylor Swift – I Knew You Were A Goat When You Walked In, and the video can be seen below. But the goat they used simply doesn’t have us reaching for the L and O on the keyboard (to spell LOL, if you didn’t get that). However, little did they know they would start a new viral craze – just too bad they got no recognition and other videos using Screaming Goat are better known.
